DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

VISION:

To become self-sustainable and grow as an excellent Electrical Engineering Department in terms academics, research, development and consultancy services to meet the regional and national requirements.

MISSION:

1)  To provide a dynamic and scholarly environment, to students so that they can learn independently as well as in team environment.

2) To provide enough opportunities to students for their growth as professional engineers, researchers or teachers by conducting lectures, lab classes, seminars, field and industrial visits and handling projects, organizing workshops and conferences etc.

3)  To promote overall ethical and spiritual values in students and to motivate them to serve the community through NCC, NSS, cultural, and sports   activities.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs) :

1) To provide students with the knowledge of basic sciences and social sciences in general and Electrical Engineering in particular so as to impart the necessary skills to analyze and synthesize electrical circuits, algorithms and complex apparatus.

2) To inculcate in graduates, professional attitude, effective communication skills and capability to succeed in diverse fields so that they develop as good team members and leaders.

3) To provide technical knowledge, skill and competence to identify, formulate, analyze and create engineering solutions related to power, electrical machinery, instrumentation, control and electronic hardware.

4) To develop the lifelong learning attitude in students by advanced higher educational degrees, professional development activities and other career appropriate options.

5) To prepare the graduates to successfully work in various industrial and government organizations such as PSPCL, PSTCL, NHPC, NTPC, PGCIL, BHEL etc., with professional competence and ethical administrative skills so as to be able to handle critical situations and meet deadlines.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs):

1) Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the conceptualization of Electrical Engineering models

2)  Identify, formulate, research literature and solve complex Electrical Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics and engineering sciences.

3) Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4)  Conduct investigations of complex problems including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.

5)  Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

6) Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multi-disciplinary settings.

7) Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write     effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

8)  Demonstrate understanding of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to engineering practice.

9) Understand and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.

10) Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a societal context and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

11) Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of management and business practices, such as risk and change management, and understand their limitations.

 

12) Recognize the need for, and have the ability to engage in independent and life-long learning.

Farewell Party Organised by Electrical Engg Deptt.

Electrical Engineering Department of Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology, Bathinda (a constituent college of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda) organized “Aamantrya-16” a farewell party for their outgoing students on 14th Dec. This party was given by EE 3rd year students in honour of the students of the EE 4th year to recall their old memories with fun, frolic and rejuvenated spirit. Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal, honourable Registrar of MRSPTU Bathinda, graced the occasion as the chief guest and Dr. Vijay Garg, Assistant Professor at UIET, Kurukshetra was the guest of honour of this colourful occasion. The event was inaugurated with lamp lighting ceremony by all the dignitaries. Thereafter, there was variety of cultural programmes like Musical Mime, Group Dance, Games etc. As a mark of memento, titles and gifts were given to the final year students and Seniors also shared their experience and memories of college. The evening saw the crowning of Mr. Manmeet S. Bhatia and Ms. Khushveer Kaur as Mr. Farewell and Ms. Farewell, whereas Mr. Personality & Ms. Personality were accorded to Mr. Pushpinder & Ms. Kamal.  Mr. Arshdeep & Ms. Jagriti grabbed the title of Mr. Evening & Ms. Evening. Dr. Hundal showered his blessings on the students and said, that the efforts, determination and confidence in students are appreciable. He congratulates them for successful completion of their Graduation. He also advised students not to compromise their values for success because success without values is not consistent. Dr. Amit Kumar Manocha, Head of the department wished the outgoing students success and good luck in life. Faculty also blessed the final year students and said that they will always be remembered. The eventful night ended with thanks giving note by teacher organiser Er. Daljeet Kaur. Dr. Mohanpaul S. Ishar, respected Vice-chancellor of MRSPTU, Bathinda and Dr. Gursharan Singh, Campus Director of GZS  appreciates the work done by the department and congratulates the outgoing students.

 

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (3rd Nov)

Department on 3rd Nov 2016. Inwhich students took pledge on cleanliness and cleanliness activities in campus area were carried out. Students launched cleanliness drive by cleaning ceiling fans, classrooms, Laboratories and open space of EE Department.
